Today, we'll be demonstrating how to set your Rolex Submariner. Whether you’re a new owner or a long-time fan of this legendary dive watch, we’ll show you everything you need to know to get the most out of your Submariner!

How to set time and date on a Rolex Submariner

1. Unscrew the Crown:
- Start by turning the crown towards yourself until you hear a small pop. This indicates the crown is in the neutral winding position, also known as the "first position".

2. Wind the Watch (if needed):
- In this first position, you can wind your Submariner by turning the crown clockwise (away from you) to give it some extra power. This step is optional but recommended if the watch has not been worn for a while; it takes about 40 winds to fully charge.

3. Adjust the Date:
- Pull the crown out to the second position. In this position, you can adjust the date at the 3 o'clock mark.
- Turn the crown clockwise to move the date forward to the correct day. (Note: The date cannot be adjusted backward.)

4. Set the Time:
- Pull the crown out to the third and final position. This will allow you to adjust the hour and minute hands.
- Rotate the crown to set the correct time.

5. Secure the Crown:
- Gently push the crown back in and turn it away from yourself to screw it tightly into place. This step is crucial to prevent water, dust, and dirt from entering the watch.

6. Use the Bezel Timer (Optional):
- To use the timer feature, rotate the unidirectional bezel so that the "0 marker" (the triangle at the top) aligns with the minute hand.
- This feature can be used to track elapsed time for various activities, using the triangle as a static marker of time.

By following these steps, you’ll ensure your Rolex Submariner is set correctly and ready to use for any occasion!

To begin, unscrew the crown towards yourself until you reach the first position. You will hear a slight pop, indicating that you have entered the neutral winding position. This allows you to manually wind your watch if needed.

Pulling the crown out to the second position will then enable you to adjust the date at the 3 o'clock mark. You can only adjust the date moving forwards, not backwards.

Then, you can pull it out to the third position, and this will allow you to adjust the hour hand and the minute hand.

Now, putting it back in, gently push and screw away from yourself and tightly secure the crown back into place. You want to do this so no dirt, dust, or water gets into your watch because that can obviously damage it.

Submariner Timer feature

Some of you may know there is actually a timer on this watch, and you can use this feature by using the unidirectional bezel. On the bezel, there is something called the 0 marker that is the little triangle at top. And basically, to use this feature, you'd align the triangle with the minute hand, and this would start the timer.

Of course, this watch was first released for divers, and this feature was super helpful for them counting how long they've been underwater. You can really use this for whatever activity you may need: cooking, cleaning, how long the line has been taking at Starbucks. It really works for everything.
