Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time 7920V/210A-B546 Review
The Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time reference 7920V/210A-B546 is the stainless steel, black dial version of the Overseas carrying a second time zone. Vacheron lists the case at 41 mm across and 12 mm thick, rated to 150 meters, with the self-winding caliber 5110 DT visible through a sapphire caseback and a 60-hour power reserve. Alongside the time, the dial carries a date subdial at six, a day-and-night indicator and a separate hand for the second time zone. It arrives on the integrated steel bracelet, and two more straps ship with it.
Shako calls it one of the most complete daily watches money can buy, and the case he makes for it is range. A watch that reads correctly with a suit and just as naturally with jeans and a t-shirt, with a complication you will actually use and a strap system that changes the character of the piece in seconds.

The Case and the Proportions
The stainless steel case measures 41 mm in diameter, and Vacheron officially lists the watch at 12 mm thick. On the steel bracelet it carries real presence, and the proportions stay wearable with it. On paper the lug-to-lug puts the Overseas in similar territory to a standard Royal Oak, and Shako describes a completely different look and feel once it is on. On his seven-inch wrist he calls it a sweet spot: substantial without becoming oversized.

The Black Dial and the Dual Time Layout
The black dial is a large part of why this variation works as a daily watch, and there is plenty happening on it. Central hours, minutes and seconds share the dial with the date at six o'clock, a day-and-night indicator and the additional hand for the second time zone. Shako describes the result as controlled asymmetry, a deliberately off-center layout where the eye keeps moving across the dial, and he treats that as the reason it stays interesting to look at.

One detail he singles out: when the second time zone is idle, the extra hand parks directly underneath the main hour hand. The same watch reads as a travel piece one minute and as something cleaner and tighter the next, which is one of the clearest examples of the range he keeps coming back to. For low light, the hour and minute hands and the applied hour markers are treated with blue Super-LumiNova, so the dial keeps proper sports watch legibility in the dark.

Caliber 5110 DT
Inside is Vacheron Constantin's self-winding caliber 5110 DT. It runs at 4 Hz, holds 234 components and 37 jewels, and gives approximately a 60-hour power reserve. It is certified with the Hallmark of Geneva, the Poinçon de Genève. Through the sapphire caseback the 22-karat gold oscillating weight is worked around the compass rose theme that ties back to the Overseas collection's identity as a travel watch, and the case ring beside it is engraved 150M ANTIMAGNETIC. That is 150 meters of water resistance plus antimagnetic protection, which is what lets a movement finished to this level be treated as an everyday sports watch.

The Bracelet, the Clasp and the Strap System
The stainless steel bracelet is a huge part of the identity of this watch. The Maltese cross inspired links give the Overseas a silhouette that is immediately recognizable, and Shako calls the mix of polished and satin brushed finishing exceptional. When the point is presence in a room, the bracelet is what you reach for.

The clasp carries a built-in comfort adjustment system, which buys a little extra room in seconds with no tools involved. The reference is factory delivered with a red rubber strap and a black grain calfskin leather strap, and Vacheron offers compatible black rubber options as well. The rubber makes the watch sportier and more casual for the days you want to go under the radar; the black grain calfskin takes the same watch in a much more refined direction. Vacheron's quick change system is completely tool free, so moving between those looks never turns into a project, and that is where a single watch picks up an enormous amount of range.

Wearing the Overseas Dual Time
The Overseas rewards handling. The transitions between polished and brushed surfaces are sharp, the bracelet catches light, and the case has an angular, architectural quality that gives the collection its own identity. There is enough presence here to feel substantial, and it gets there without ever needing to shout.

Shako's summary is that the 7920V works as an all-in-one daily: timeless design, a versatile black dial, a genuinely useful complication, a 60-hour power reserve, 150 meters of water resistance, real lume and tool-free strap changes. Office with a suit, rubber on the weekend, dual time when travelling, and back on Monday morning. Asked for a serious luxury sports watch to handle almost everything, he puts this one very high on the list.
