How to set your Rolex Datejust:
- Start turning the crown of the Rolex towards yourself until you feel a pop, indicating the neutral position.
- Pull the crown out to the second position to change the date, moving only forward.
- Pull the crown out to the third position to change the hour and minute hands.
- Push the crown back in and turn it away from yourself to secure it and start the seconds hand moving again.
- If the watch doesn't work, give it a shake to try and get it working again.
Detailed directions
Start turning the crown towards yourself. Once you do this, you'll feel a small pop, letting you know you're in the neutral position. If you need to wind your watch, this is what you do.
Then, you can pull it out to the second position. You'll hear another little pop. When you pull it to the second position, you can change the date, but only forward, not backward.
When you want to change the hour and minute hands on the dial, pull it out to the third position. You can see that when the crown is open, the seconds hand won't be moving. But right when you push it back in and push and turn away from yourself to secure the crown, the seconds start moving again.
If this doesn't work, I would just give your watch a little bit of a shake and it should start working again.
