Rolex Daytona Le Mans 126528LN: The Yellow Gold 24-Hour Daytona
The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona Le Mans 126528LN is the yellow gold edition of the Daytona built to celebrate the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It pairs an 18 karat yellow gold case and bracelet with a black Cerachrom bezel, a black dial with Paul Newman-inspired counters, and a chronograph that times a full 24 hours. The case keeps the familiar 40 mm Daytona size, and the complete watch weighs almost 209 grams.
Rolex developed caliber 4132 specifically for this watch, reworking the chronograph so it can measure the entire length of the race, and put it on display behind a sapphire caseback.

1. The Yellow Gold Case and the Red 100
The 126528LN presented in its Rolex box alongside the reference card
The 40 mm case is entirely 18 karat yellow gold, paired with a black Cerachrom ceramic bezel that gives the gold some contrast. One of the smallest details on that bezel carries the most meaning. The 100 on the tachymeter scale is picked out in red, commemorating the centenary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Everything expected from a Daytona sports watch is here: screw-down chronograph pushers, the Triplock winding crown and 100 meters of water resistance. The original white gold Le Mans could almost disguise what it was. The yellow gold version has no interest in doing that.

2. Measurements and Weight
Published estimates put the lug-to-lug length at around 47 to 47.6 mm and the case thickness at around 12 to 12.2 mm. The figure that really registers is the weight. With a solid gold case and a solid gold bracelet, the watch comes in at almost 209 grams, or about 0.46 pounds. The proportions are familiar Daytona, carrying nearly half a pound of yellow gold.

3. The PVD Black Dial and Paul Newman-Inspired Counters
Black and gold is nothing new on a Daytona. What sets this dial apart is how it is made. Rolex uses PVD (physical vapor deposition) in the dial's manufacturing process, which creates a deep black finish against the yellow gold case.

The silvered counters reach much further back into Daytona history, almost to the beginning. Their distinctive square-ended markings are inspired by the exotic dials associated with the vintage Paul Newman Daytonas. The result carries Daytona history in the counters and Le Mans history everywhere else, in a watch that still feels modern and timeless.
4. Caliber 4132 and the 24-Hour Chronograph
Beyond the design, the 9 o'clock counter is mechanically different from a standard Daytona's, whose totalizer counts 12 hours. This one runs all the way to 24, matching the full duration of the race the watch was created to celebrate.

Rolex accomplished this with more than a new print on the counter. Caliber 4132 was developed from the architecture of caliber 4131 specifically for the Le Mans Daytona, and the chronograph mechanism itself was modified so the watch can measure the entire 24 hours. The movement also brings approximately 72 hours of power reserve, Rolex's Chronergy escapement and Paraflex shock absorbers.
The sapphire exhibition caseback puts caliber 4132 on view, including its openwork gold rotor and Rolex's Côtes de Genève decoration. A display back is still an unusual sight on a Rolex sports watch, even as more Rolex models adopt one. On the Le Mans it feels particularly appropriate, because the movement is one of the reasons the watch exists.

5. The Yellow Gold Oyster Bracelet
The full 18 karat yellow gold Oyster bracelet uses the familiar three-piece link construction with polished center links, and it is a major reason the watch gets so close to 209 grams. It closes with an Oysterlock safety clasp, and the Easylink comfort extension adds approximately 5 mm of length with no tools involved. It is the classic Daytona Oyster bracelet, executed in enough yellow gold to make its presence very clear.

6. Built for Endurance
The regular Daytona is built around racing. The Le Mans is built around endurance. The movement was reworked to time 24 hours, the red 100 marks the race's centenary, and the Paul Newman-inspired counters give it a Daytona identity that sets it apart from the regular production models.
The yellow gold version was produced for only about a year, with production rumored to be around 100 pieces. Even within the world of Daytona collecting, that is a very small room.
A great lap is one thing. Holding that pace for the entire race is something else, and that marathon mindset is what the Le Mans stands for. Nearly half a pound of yellow gold makes for quite a victory lap.
