Vacheron Constantin American 1921: Platinum Eastern Arabic Dial
The Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 reference 82035/000P-H063 is a rare Middle East execution of the cushion-cased American, with a platinum case, a grained silver dial and green Eastern Arabic numerals. It was produced in very limited numbers. A production total does not appear to have been publicly confirmed, and this is far from a standard production 1921.
The video introduces it as a combination of the trophy, rare and historic pieces the channel usually shows, all in one watch.

Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 40mm Platinum Silver Eastern Arabic Dial (Ref# 82035/000P-H063) - $81,500

1. The Platinum Cushion Case
The American 1921 uses its signature cushion case, measuring 40 mm by 40 mm. Vacheron Constantin lists the case at 8.06 mm thick, with water resistance of 30 meters. Even in platinum, the watch stays slim, balanced and elegant on the wrist.
Measured at 45.8 mm lug to lug, 8.0 mm thick and 98.0 grams (0.2120 lb, about a fifth of a pound)
2. A Design From the Roaring Twenties
The American 1921 dates back to the watches Vacheron Constantin made for the American market during the Roaring Twenties. The dial is rotated diagonally, with the crown sitting around 1:30, so a driver could read the time more naturally with a hand on the wheel.
What started as a functional idea became one of Vacheron Constantin's most recognizable designs. More than a century later, it still looks contemporary while remaining completely different.
3. The Eastern Arabic Dial
This version takes the design in a new direction. The grained silver dial carries green Eastern Arabic numerals, and that contrast gives the watch a lot of personality without making it feel busy.
The railroad minute track and the off-center small seconds both follow the rotated layout. It is a pure time-only watch with small seconds, so the numerals and the diagonal layout have the dial to themselves.
4. Caliber 4400 AS
Inside is Vacheron Constantin's manual-winding caliber 4400 AS. It runs at 4 Hz, uses 21 jewels and gives around 65 hours of power reserve.
Because the movement is hand-wound, the sapphire caseback gives a clean, open view of the whole caliber, its finishing and its architecture. The movement also carries the Hallmark of Geneva, which the video points to as a clear marker of the level of watchmaking involved.

5. Green Alligator Strap and Platinum Buckle
The watch comes on a green alligator strap that ties directly into the Eastern Arabic numerals, and it closes with a platinum tang buckle. It is the traditional strap setup, and it works perfectly with the character of the watch. The green numerals and the green strap together give this American a completely different look.
6. Simplicity Executed at an 11
The American 1921 works because it has so much personality without needing to do too much. The cushion case, the rotated dial, the platinum construction and the green Eastern Arabic numerals all feel unusual on their own, and together they make complete sense. It is eye-catching and never loud, elegant and never boring. For a design that goes back more than a century, it still feels remarkably contemporary. In the video, Shako sums it up as "simplicity executed at an 11."
