Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Diver 15720ST: The Pink Accent Diver

This is the Royal Oak Offshore Diver, reference 15720ST, in the pink accent configuration. It is a 42mm stainless steel dive watch with a black Méga Tapisserie dial and a pink 15-minute scale running around the inner bezel. The color is the only thing that reads as playful. Everything else is a proper Offshore: 300 meters of water resistance, an internal rotating bezel, and the octagonal case AP has built this line around since the early 1990s. We had this one in alongside the teal version, so we got to spend real time with both.

The Pink Accent Diver

The Offshore Diver is the version of AP's sports watch that leans hardest into being a tool. The 15720ST keeps all of that and adds a pink treatment to the diving scale, which is enough to give the watch some personality without turning it into a novelty. It arrives in the AP presentation box with the papers, on a white rubber strap.

Dial, Bezel, and Case

The dial is black Méga Tapisserie, the oversized waffle pattern AP uses on the Offshore, with applied white markers and a date window at 3 o'clock. Around the edge sits an internal rotating bezel with the pink 15-minute diving scale. You turn it with the crown at the 10 o'clock position rather than by grabbing an external ring, so the elapsed-time track stays protected under the crystal.

The case is the familiar octagonal Royal Oak shape scaled up and toughened for the Offshore, with a fixed steel outer bezel held down by the eight hexagonal screws. Both crowns are black ceramic with steel accents, which suits the sportier read of the watch. Up close you can see how deep the tapisserie sits under the applied markers.

One detail worth calling out: on this pink version the lume is on the hands and hour markers only. On the teal variant the inner bezel accents are lumed as well. It is a small difference, but it changes how the two look in the dark.

The Caliber 4308

Inside is the AP caliber 4308, an automatic movement with a 60-hour power reserve. It is the workhorse in this generation of Offshore Diver, built for everyday running rather than for show. That said, AP still put a sapphire caseback on it, so you get a clear view of the movement and the openworked oscillating weight with the AP logo.

Size, Weight, and Straps

The case is 42mm across with an official thickness of 14.2mm. On our own calipers we read closer to 14.5mm and just under 54mm lug to lug, so treat those as rough reference numbers rather than the spec. On the scale it came in at 176.7 grams, which is real heft for a watch on a rubber strap. You feel it on the wrist.

On a 7-inch wrist this wears big, but it is not out of control. It sits like a proper bold Offshore should. If you want the presence of a large diver, this delivers it.

It ships on the white rubber strap, and AP offers a matching pink strap that fits the same case. This example came with both, and swapping to the pink pushes the watch fully into statement territory. Below is the pink strap fitted, and next to it the teal version we also had in stock. Together they make a fun pair.

FAQ

Is the Royal Oak Offshore Diver 15720ST a real dive watch?

Yes. It carries 300 meters of water resistance and a functional internal rotating bezel for tracking elapsed dive time. You set that inner bezel with the crown at the 10 o'clock position, which keeps the elapsed-time scale protected under the crystal instead of exposed on an outer ring.

What movement is inside the 15720ST?

The AP caliber 4308, an automatic movement with a 60-hour power reserve and 32 jewels. It runs the hours, minutes, seconds, and date. Despite the 300-meter rating, AP fitted a sapphire caseback, so you can see the movement and the openworked oscillating weight.

Does it come with the pink strap?

The watch ships on a white rubber strap. AP offers a matching pink rubber strap that fits the same case, and this particular example came with both. The white keeps things clean and sporty, while the pink leans into the color scheme for a bolder look.

How big does the 15720ST wear?

It is 42mm wide and 14.2mm thick, and it weighs about 176 grams, so it has genuine presence. On a 7-inch wrist it wears big but stays reasonable. If you like a large, bold sports watch, the proportions land where you would want them.
