A Platinum Case That Wears Light
The case measures 38mm across and 9.33mm thick, with a 46.3mm lug-to-lug that keeps it planted on a smaller wrist. On paper platinum reads heavy, and most people expect a platinum watch to feel like an anchor. This one does not. On our scale it came in at 73.5 grams on the strap, which is light for a solid platinum case. You notice the density when you pick it up, but it disappears once it is on.

The Salmon Dial and Blackened Markers
Patek calls the color rose-gilt opaline. Everyone else calls it salmon. It is a warm, coppery tone that shifts with the light and gives the watch its whole personality. The applied hour markers are white gold treated in a dark anthracite finish, so they read almost black against the salmon. Turn it over and a sapphire caseback opens onto the hand-wound caliber 30-255 PS. This is a manual movement, so you wind it yourself, and it holds a 65-hour power reserve off a full wind. The bridges carry Geneva striping, the screws are polished, and the ruby jewels sit in plain view across the architecture. The finishing is exactly what you pay Patek for, and here you get to look straight at it.

Strap, Buckle, and Water Resistance
The watch comes on a chocolate brown alligator strap with a solid platinum buckle. The darker leather works with the warmth of the salmon dial and keeps the whole thing understated. Flip the buckle over and you find the Pt950 platinum hallmark stamped alongside the Patek signature. Water resistance is 30 meters, which is standard for a dress watch of this kind and plenty for daily wear short of swimming.
