Unboxing the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 43mm in Titanium (Ref. 26420TI)
The Royal Oak Offshore is Audemars Piguet at its loudest, and this titanium 43mm chronograph in blue is a good example of why. We recently unboxed the reference 26420TI, and it has serious presence in the metal. Here is a closer look, from the blue Méga Tapisserie dial to the caliber 4401 chronograph turning behind the sapphire caseback.

A 43mm Titanium Case With Presence
The Offshore was built to be big, and this one measures 43mm across and about 14.4mm thick. On paper that reads large. In the metal, titanium changes the math. The case and bezel are both titanium, so it sits light for its size and does not drag on the arm the way a steel Offshore can. The octagonal bezel with its eight exposed hexagonal screws is pure Royal Oak, scaled up and finished with the brushing and beveling AP is known for. The crown screws down and is flanked by two chronograph pushers, with black ceramic pushpieces and sandblasted titanium guards.
The Blue Méga Tapisserie Dial
The dial is where this one earns its looks. The blue Méga Tapisserie pattern is a large waffle texture that catches light differently as you move it, so the dial never looks flat. The rhodium-toned counters give it a reverse-panda contrast against the blue. Three registers handle the chronograph and the running seconds: a 30-minute counter at nine, a 12-hour counter at three, and small seconds at six, with a date window at four-thirty. White gold applied markers and Royal Oak hands carry the lume, and the red central chronograph hand keeps it sporty and easy to read. A tachymeter scale runs around the blue inner bezel.
Inside: The Caliber 4401 Chronograph
Turn it over and the sapphire caseback shows the caliber 4401, AP's integrated automatic chronograph. It is a flyback, so you can reset and restart the timing in a single push without stopping first, and it runs on a column wheel with a 70-hour power reserve. The finishing is what you want to see at this level, and the rotor and bridges are worth a long look. The titanium ring around the crystal is engraved Royal Oak Offshore.
On the Wrist and the Strap System
For a 43mm watch, it wears well thanks to the titanium and the way the case sits. It comes on a blue rubber strap with a titanium AP pin buckle, and AP's interchangeable system lets you swap straps without tools. Ours also ships with a second black rubber strap, so you get two looks in the box.
