Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin 41.5mm 18K White Gold Burgundy Dial (Ref# 4300V/220G-H151) - $165,000

Vacheron Constantin's Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, reference 4300V/220G-H151, fits a full perpetual calendar into an 18-karat white gold sports watch that measures 8.1 mm thick. The dial is burgundy lacquer, the case and bracelet are solid white gold, and the watch arrives with two additional rubber straps and a travel pouch. We had this one in hand for the video and measured it ourselves. The color and the thinness are what stay with you.

1. The Burgundy Lacquered Dial
Vacheron Constantin describes the dial as burgundy lacquer with a sunburst satin finish at the center and a velvet finish on the minute track. Those surfaces catch light differently, so the color keeps moving. In soft light it reads dark, closer to a brownish maroon. Under direct light the red opens up into something like a glass of red wine.
The contrasting calendar counters give the display enough separation to stay legible, and the white gold hands and applied markers add another layer of richness on top. Even the moon phase disc carries the same deep burgundy, which lets the calendar read as part of the dial.

2. The Ultra-Thin Case and How It Wears
Officially the case measures 41.5 mm in diameter and 8.1 mm thick, with 50 meters of water resistance. Our own measurements put it at 48.4 mm lug to lug, and on the bracelet it weighs 181 grams.
Those numbers explain how it wears. A 48.4 mm lug-to-lug span sits comfortably on an average to larger wrist, and a case just over 8 mm slides under a cuff the way a dress watch does. The Overseas already carries a strong bezel, an integrated bracelet, and real sporty presence. Bringing the case down this far gives all of that a different kind of elegance. It feels sleek, elevated, and refined in the hand. The 50 meters of water resistance means a rinse in the sink is a non-event.

3. White Gold Bracelet, Clasp, and Strap System
The bracelet uses the familiar Overseas design, with links shaped to reference Vacheron Constantin's Maltese Cross. Polished and satin surfaces alternate across the bracelet, which gives it plenty of brilliance while the dial keeps the attention. We love how it plays with shape, edge, texture, and finishing. It is luxurious, architectural, and sharp.

The clasp carries an on-the-fly extension, so you can add a few millimeters of length during the day with no tools involved. The bracelet also comes off the case by hand. Operate the release underneath the end link, pull the bracelet away, and click on one of the two rubber straps that ship with the watch. One is burgundy to match the dial, the other is white.
Each one changes the personality of the piece. On the white gold bracelet it is a full precious metal statement. On the white rubber it turns bright, casual, and summery. The swap takes seconds, so you get several versions of the same watch.

4. The Perpetual Calendar and Caliber 1120 QP
The dial displays hours, minutes, day, date, month, leap year, and moon phase. As long as the watch keeps running and stays properly set, the calendar tracks the correct date through to 2100. The leap year indication sits inside the month counter on a 48-month cycle, which is how the movement knows where it falls in the four-year sequence.
Inside is Vacheron Constantin's self-winding caliber 1120 QP. It measures 4.05 mm thick, holds 276 components, drives the entire calendar display, and provides approximately 40 hours of power reserve. Through the sapphire caseback you can see the traditional movement finishing and the openworked 22-karat gold rotor cut with the Maltese Cross. The movement also carries the Hallmark of Geneva, which covers standards for finishing, construction, provenance, and performance. Compressing that much watchmaking into 4.05 mm while holding the finishing to that standard is the achievement here.

The presentation box holds a removable burgundy travel pouch, which is the part you will actually use. There is also a booklet-style folder that keeps the additional straps, the warranty card, and the accessories together. The Overseas collection is built around travel and versatility, so a pouch you can drop in a bag fits the identity of the watch.
7. Final Thoughts
The Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin pulls together ideas that usually live in separate watches. It has the presence of a sports watch and the proportions of a dress watch. It runs a serious complication behind a calm, warm dial. It is executed entirely in white gold and still wears easily every day. The perpetual calendar shows what Vacheron Constantin can do mechanically, and the color, the thinness, and the execution are what make the piece stay with you.
