A full rose gold Nautilus set with diamonds is the kind of watch that could easily go wrong, and this one does not. The 5723/1R is a diamond-set rose gold Nautilus, baguette-cut stones around the bezel and across a warm gold dial. Gérald Genta drew the original Nautilus in 1976, and that shape carries the baguettes better than you would expect. We filmed the whole piece close up, so here is what stood out.

The Rose Gold Nautilus 5723/1R
This is the 5723/1R, a diamond-set Nautilus in 18kt rose gold. It comes in a dark ebony presentation box with the Calatrava cross inlaid on the lid. The dial is a warm rose-gilt gold, so the case, bracelet, and dial all read as one metal.

Rose Gold Case and Diamond Bezel
The case is 18kt rose gold and 40mm across, so it keeps the flat Nautilus profile even with the extra weight of gold. The rounded octagonal bezel is set with 32 baguette-cut diamonds, cut square and lined up edge to edge around the bezel, not the round pavé you usually see. The crown screws down with the Calatrava cross on its face. Everything is done in one metal, which is what keeps it from tipping into costume territory.

The Gold Dial
The dial matches the case, a warm rose-gilt gold tone with the horizontal Nautilus embossing running across it. Twelve baguette diamonds stand in for the hour markers, and there is a date window at three o'clock. That is the full layout: hours, minutes, a sweep seconds hand, and the date. No sub-dials, nothing crowded. Up close the grooved dial and the baguettes catch light from different angles, which is what gives it depth in person.

The Movement
Turn it over and the sapphire caseback opens onto a self-winding movement. The bridge is engraved twenty-nine jewels, there is a solid gold rotor, and it carries the Patek Philippe Seal. The spec card lists a 45-hour power reserve. The finishing is a big part of what you pay for here, and it is all on display through the back.

Bracelet, Weight, and Fit
The integrated rose gold bracelet is pure Nautilus: brushed outer links with a polished center row, tapering into a fold-over clasp stamped with the cross. It is heavy. On our scale the watch came in at 172.1 grams, a little over a third of a pound, and you feel that solid gold the moment you pick it up. At 40mm it still wears flat and sits well, so the diamonds and the gold do not turn it into a watch you leave in the box.
