Rolex Ombré Dial Day-Date 40 2024 and more Rolex Day-Dates

Introduction

Rolex has a diverse image in the world of luxury watches, yet when most people think of a Rolex, they likely picture a Daytona or a Submariner. These models, characterized by their stainless steel selections, ceramic bezels, and oyster and jubilee bracelets are iconic. But, we want to talk about the big boss. Whether it's being worn on a golf course in Myrtle Beach, in the back of a Maybach in the city, or behind the wheel of a Turbo S in Miami, the Rolex Day-Date is about it's business. This model even features its own exclusive bracelet: the Rolex Presidential Bracelet. You can't get that on a Daytona.

What kind of watch is the Rolex Day-Date?

The Day-Date is considered a dress watch hybrid because it looks amazing dressed up and also looks great dressed down. It works on men and women, and can be considered a unisex piece, especially thanks to the fact that it's available in both 40mm and 36mm case sizes. Overall, it's a great piece to have in your collection. Since its introduction in 1956, the Day-Date only comes in precious metals - white gold, yellow gold, everose gold, and platinum. Today, we're going to talk about 4 different Day-Dates, starting with a new 2024 release Everose Day-Date 40 with the slate Ombre dial, reference number 228235.

1. 2024 Rolex Day-Date 40 18kt Everose Gold - Slate Ombre Roman Dial - (Ref# 228235) - $66,000

This is a new release that was actually released right before Watches and Wonders, and we can see that Rolex really started to add a lot more variety to their Day-Date catalog.

This piece comes on an ever rose gold president bracelet with a slate Ombre dial, and one thing we noticed having it here in hand is that this watch is a little bit more muted in person than you might expect. The slate Ombre dial on this watch is a little bit more muted than one would think, and same story with the Everose gold bracelet that somehow is more subdued than I've seen in the past. If you want a gold Prezi plain jane but don't want a light show on your wrist, I think this is the perfect watch for you.

This retails for $41,500 on the Rolex site, and is available now with us at $66,000.

2. Rolex Day-Date 40 White Gold - Black Baguette Diamond Dial and Bezel - (Ref# 228349RBR) - $55,000

Next up, we have reference number 228349 RBR. This 40mm Day-Date in White Gold has a beautiful "Bright Black" dial color with a deep shine to it. The bezel is white gold set with 48 flawless diamonds and the dial comes with 10 baguette diamond hour markers. This comes on a white gold presidential bracelet. This is definitely a very classic and elegant look.

The retail for this watch is $63,200 and we're selling it under retail here for $55,000. We consider this an exceptional value piece - you're really getting a lot for your money with this watch.

3. Rolex Day-Date II 41mm 18kt White Gold Rolex President 2 - Blue Wave Dial - (Ref# 218239BLWAP) - $45,000

Next up, we have reference number 218239BLWAP, a "Day-Date 2" coming in at 41mm. .

Yes, this is actually a 41 millimeter, so it's a little bit bigger than the last ones. The dial has a blue wave motif, and you can swipe through and see that in the day window, the days are actually written in Italian, not in English. So if you're planning your next trip to Italy or if you're just from New Jersey, this is definitely the piece for you. It also comes in white gold on the same president bracelet with the fluted bezel, and we have this one listed for $45,000. The blue wave motif really adds some more dimension into the dial and also gives it somewhat of a summer flare to it.

It kind of reminds me of the ocean on a more subdued level which is nice, and this watch goes for $45,000 here at Watches Off 5th.

4. Rolex Day-Date 40mm Yellow Gold Pave Dial - (Ref# 228238) - $65,000

Last up, but certainly not least, we have reference number 228238. This yellow gold Day Date has a pave diamond dial with baguette hour markers. It's truly amazing to see how Rolex can pull off having a pave diamond dial with baguette hour markers on top of that. It somehow complements each other so perfectly.

This watch is definitely not for the faint of heart, and you gotta love diamonds for this watch. This Pave dial Rolex Day-Date retails for $61,600, and we have it here today at Watches Off 5th for $65,000.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Rolex Day-Date continues to set the standard for luxury watches with its exclusive use of precious metals and timeless design.
