Some watches announce themselves the moment they clear the box, and the Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin Skeleton, reference 4307V/220G, is one of them. This is a 41.5mm Overseas in 18-karat white gold on a full white gold bracelet, with a fully skeletonized perpetual calendar movement and a bezel factory-set with 60 baguette-cut blue sapphires. There is a lot happening on this dial, but the longer you look, the more the whole piece resolves into a single idea. Case, Size, and Wrist Presence

Officially the case measures 41.5mm in diameter with a listed thickness of 8.1mm. Our own measurements put the case at 8.5mm thick with a lug-to-lug just under 49mm, and as always those numbers are for reference only. The watch weighs 170 grams, a little more than a third of a pound on the wrist. For a larger, jewelry-forward sports watch carrying a perpetual calendar, that restraint in thickness is the impressive part. It has real presence, yet it still slides under a cuff.

The Factory Sapphire Bezel

The 4307V reference points to a more exclusive gem-setting configuration, and the bezel is where the factory work shows. On many gem-set watches you can see the metal prongs holding each stone. Here the 60 baguette sapphires sit almost seamlessly, cut and matched for color, tone, and saturation into one continuous ring of blue. That would already be difficult on a plain round bezel. On the Overseas case, with its sharp geometry, the effect turns into a statement of separation between factory setting and an aftermarket job.

Skeletonized Perpetual Calendar Movement

A perpetual calendar tracks the date, day, month, moon phase, and the leap year cycle, and it accounts for the different lengths of each month automatically. That usually means more components, more layers, and a thicker watch. This is where Vacheron flexes. Inside is the caliber 1120 QP SQ, an ultra-thin automatic perpetual calendar measuring only about 4.05mm thick, which is thinner than many time-only movements on the market today.

The skeletonization does not add a mechanical function; it is purely a construction choice. It does change how you read the piece, though. Through the dial you see the architecture of the calendar exposed, the open bridges, the finished edges, every visible surface treated with intention because there is nowhere to hide poor work.

Bracelet and Quick-Change System

With an integrated sports watch, the bracelet matters as much as the case. The Overseas bracelet uses links shaped after Vacheron's Maltese cross, with brushed surfaces and polished edges. It also carries a micro-adjustment system on each side of the clasp: pull to extend, then push the bracelet back toward the clasp for a snugger fit. Because this is an Overseas, you also get the quick-change strap system. Press the release tabs underneath, lift the white gold bracelet off, and swap to one of the included straps in seconds, no tools required.

Rarity and Availability

This reference is believed to be extremely rare. Vacheron has not published an official production figure, and it is reported to be one of only a handful of pieces made, with some accounts putting it at five. We treat that number as unconfirmed until Vacheron says otherwise, but the piece is unquestionably difficult to find in white gold with the factory sapphire bezel.

Taken together, the sapphires, the skeleton movement, the blue accents, and the white gold case work as one composition rather than a stack of options.
