Below we separate what reputable outlets have actually documented from what gets repeated across celebrity-collection aggregator pages. The RM 72-01 "Charles Leclerc"
Richard Mille released the RM 72-01 "Charles Leclerc" in May 2025 in a run of 150 pieces. The case is white Quartz TPT with red, drawn from the flag of Monaco, where Leclerc was born and still lives. Robb Report describes the crown as mimicking the twist of an F1 tire under acceleration. Time+Tide put retail at US$330,000; Robb Report's coverage of the same watch used $300,000. We carry both figures because neither outlet reconciled with the other.
Inside is the CRMC1, Richard Mille's in-house flyback chronograph caliber. A flyback chronograph resets and restarts from a single push while it is still running, which is why it started life as a pilot's and racer's complication. The CRMC1 drives 60-minute and 24-hour counters plus running seconds, holds 50 hours of power reserve, beats at 28,800 vph, and winds through a platinum rotor on ceramic bearings. The movement uses two oscillating pinions to engage the chronograph, which keeps the caliber thin and reduces the power the chronograph pulls from the going train. The case measures 38.4mm wide, 47.34mm lug to lug, and 11.68mm thick, with 30 meters of water resistance.
Hodinkee's reporting noted the watch had been on Leclerc for weeks before Richard Mille said anything about it. Then it appeared in the biggest possible setting. On 5 July 2026 Leclerc won the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, his first victory since Austin in October 2024 per Formula1.com, and Ferrari's 250th win in Formula 1 per Ferrari's own race report. Robb Report reported him hoisting the trophy in the RM 72-01.

The RM 72-01 platform itself is something we handle regularly. The Leclerc edition is one colorway of a chronograph Richard Mille has built in titanium, ceramic, gold, and gem-set executions, and we see the executions without a driver's name attached list far closer to their original retail.
The RM 67-02 Prototype and the CHF 2.1M Only Watch Result
Before the RM 72-01, Leclerc raced in the RM 67-02 "Charles Leclerc," a red and white piece Richard Mille built around him. Watchonista's coverage lays out the construction: a 47mm x 39mm red and white Quartz TPT case, a 0.4mm X-shaped grade 5 titanium dial hand-painted in the colors of Monaco, an automatic CRMA7 caliber with grade 5 titanium mainplate and bridges under black and grey DLC, and a skeletonized rotor combining Carbon TPT with white gold. The whole watch weighs 32 grams, on what Watchonista calls the lightest strap the brand makes.
Richard Mille donated a unique example of that prototype to Only Watch 2021, the biennial charity auction held by Christie's in Geneva on 6 November 2021. Christie's estimated it at CHF 270,000 to CHF 330,000. It sold for CHF 2.1 million, per Quill & Pad's full results tally, against a CHF 30 million total for the sale. The winning bidder also received two VIP passes to the Monaco Grand Prix as guests of Scuderia Ferrari, with a meeting with Leclerc attached.
That result is worth sitting with. A watch estimated in the low six figures cleared seven, and the driver's name plus a single-piece run did the work. The 67-02 case itself, the extra-flat automatic that Richard Mille builds for athletes, is a reference we list in other athletes' executions. Same platform, no auction premium attached.
Richard Mille and Ferrari: the RM 43-01
Ferrari and Richard Mille signed a multi-year partnership on 22 February 2021, making Richard Mille the team partner and official watch of Scuderia Ferrari from that season, per Ferrari's own announcement. Hublot's Ferrari deal had run out on 31 December 2020. Leclerc's own relationship with Richard Mille predates the team deal by roughly a decade, which is why his name sits on watches while other Ferrari drivers' names do not.
The flagship of that partnership arrived in March 2025: the RM 43-01 Tourbillon Split-Seconds Chronograph Ferrari. It runs 150 pieces split evenly, 75 in grade 5 titanium with a Carbon TPT caseband and 75 in full Carbon TPT, at CHF 1.1 million and CHF 1.35 million respectively per GQ Middle East. Ferrari chief design officer Flavio Manzoni worked on it directly, and the design cues are literal: a minute-counter bridge shaped like the end of a Ferrari crankcase, pushers modeled on the SF90's taillights, strap offsets taken from the nose of the 488 Challenge Evo. GQ Middle East reported that Leclerc and teammate Lewis Hamilton were among the first seen wearing it and that both appeared in the launch film. One thing that gets conflated: a brand can be a team's watch partner without being the sport's timekeeper. TAG Heuer became Formula 1's Official Timekeeper on 1 January 2025, taking over from Rolex, which had been the sport's Official Timepiece since 2013. Those are separate contracts at separate levels of the sport. Richard Mille's deal is with Ferrari; TAG Heuer's is with Formula 1 itself.
The 2022 Theft in Viareggio
In April 2022, ESPN reported that a Richard Mille valued at roughly $320,000 was taken from Leclerc in Viareggio, on the Tuscan coast. He was out with friends and his trainer, Andrea Ferrari, when people recognized him and crowded in for autographs and photographs. Someone in that crowd removed the watch. Leclerc's trainer posted about it publicly the following day.
ESPN later reported that Italian police arrested four suspects in connection with the theft. A search of one suspect's home turned up two valuable watches, though an investigative source told ESPN it was not yet possible to say whether either was the piece taken from Leclerc.

What Else Is Documented, and What Is Not
Outside the two signature references, the sourcing thins out fast. Here is where we draw the line.
Photographed, brand level. DMARGE ran photographs of Leclerc at an NBA game in Paris in January 2023, alongside fellow drivers Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon, wearing a round-cased Richard Mille. That alone makes it unusual in a catalog built on the tonneau shape. DMARGE named a reference; none of the outlets we treat as authoritative on sightings confirmed it, so we do not print one.
Brand level only. A June 2026 South China Morning Post roundup lists Patek Philippe and Hublot in his rotation alongside Richard Mille. Specific references get attached to those brands across celebrity-collection pages. We have not found an independent watch-media source that pins a reference number to Leclerc, so we leave it at the brand.
We will not repeat it. Aggregator pages credit Leclerc with a Rafael Nadal tourbillon and with the RM UP-01 Ferrari. The RM UP-01 Ferrari is real and it is a Ferrari partnership piece; whether Leclerc has one is a separate question, and coverage we can find says the Scuderia drivers were shown the watch. That is not the same claim.
