GTA 6 Watches: The Real Rolex, AP and Casio Behind Every Homage

Last updated: Friday, August 28th, 2026

Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on November 19, 2026, and the 26-minute Extended Look Rockstar released on August 27 is the closest view yet of what its cast wears. The watches in it all belong to Rockstar's own in-game brands: Crowex stands in for Rolex, Covgari for Audemars Piguet, and Kronos for Casio. Here is who wears what in Vice City, which real references each watch points to, and the ones we have listed.

What Rockstar Showed on August 27

Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look premiered on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET on August 27, 2026, then went up on Rockstar's YouTube channel at 9 p.m. ET the same night. It runs about 26 minutes, all captured from in-game footage on PlayStation 5, and it is the longest look at the game Rockstar has released. The game itself launches November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, after two delays from its original 2025 window.

The setting is Leonida, Rockstar's Florida, with Vice City as its Miami. The two leads are Jason Duval, a former soldier who ran product for smugglers in the Leonida Keys, and Lucia Caminos, fresh out of Leonida Penitentiary. Around them is a cast of dealers, fixers and club owners, and because Vice City weather means short sleeves, you can see what all of them wear on the wrist. British GQ, WatchPro and a long-running GTAForums thread have all gone frame by frame on exactly that. We read all three, then matched the results against what we sell.

Crowex, Kronos and Covgari: GTA's Three Watch Brands

Rockstar does not license real watch brands. It builds its own, and it has been doing it since San Andreas, where CJ could walk into the Didier Sachs boutique and buy the most expensive watches in the game. WatchPro's August 26 breakdown names the three that matter:

Crowex is the Rolex stand-in. Its slogans over the years have run from "When you're too rich to care what time it is" to "Strap on time," which tells you the joke. WatchPro pins its two clearest references as the yellow gold Day-Date 228238 and the two-tone Submariner 16613. It is also the one in-game brand British GQ could read on a dial in the new footage: they spotted "CROWEX" printed on a gold watch with a date at three o'clock and a curved day window at twelve, and called it "not the most subtle reference."

Kronos goes the other way. WatchPro describes it as the accessible, functional side of watch culture, with the Casio Pro Trek PRW-1300 making what they call a "bootleg appearance" through its rugged case and digital display.

Covgari is the high end. Its designs carry the octagonal bezel, exposed screws, integrated bracelet and chronograph layout that WatchPro reads as the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. WatchPro also flags a Tudor Black Bay Chronograph two-tone in the mix, which shares the same steel-and-gold sports-watch language.

Who Wears What in the Extended Look

British GQ's Josiah Gogarty went through the cast on August 27, the day the footage dropped. Where the GTAForums thread, which started with the May 2025 screenshots, adds a detail, we have noted it.

Jason Duval wears a big digital watch. GQ, agreeing with the Reddit sleuths, reads it as one of Casio's outdoorsy models; GTAForums had already matched it to the Pro Trek. Fans also noticed that in Trailer 2 the watch reads 11:08 during the convenience store scene and briefly took it for a hidden trailer date, as TheGamer reported in October 2025. Rockstar never confirmed anything of the sort.

Lucia Caminos wears no watch. GQ suggests there may be an in-game option to hit the boutiques once the money comes in. The GTAForums poster noticed something similar across the screenshots: many of the men wear watches, and only two of the women do.

Brian Heder, the veteran drug runner on his third wife, wears what GQ calls "the big two-tone thing on his wrist." In GQ's carousel he is the one in the palm-tree shirt with sunglasses pushed up on his head, and the bracelet shows gold center links between brushed steel outer links, the Oyster-style layout Rolex uses on its two-tone sports models. GTAForums reads the screenshot version as a black-dial two-tone Rolex Submariner, and the trailer version as something closer to a Patek Philippe Nautilus. Both fit the character. GQ's guess is that he picked it up in the 1980s, when two-tone watches first got popular, and that he has no idea they are back in fashion.

Raul Bautista, the bank robber Jason and Lucia help escape, has the cleanest taste in the cast. GQ describes a light dial with Arabic numerals. GTAForums caught him in two different watches across the screenshots: a Royal Oak chronograph look-alike in one, and a plain dress watch with no complications in another.

Dre'Quan Priest, the studio manager and aspiring mogul, has a GMT-style bezel showing from his suit cuff. GQ's read: "The man wants you to think he travels for work."

Boobie Ike, the Vice City legend who turned street money into a business empire, is shot in his Jack of Hearts club with two gold chains and a dark-dial watch on his left wrist. GQ reads it as a chronograph with two subdials instead of the usual three. GQ calls it a lesser-spotted brand, and nobody has matched it to a real reference. We are not going to guess either.

Cal Hampton, Heder's sidekick and Jason's friend, wears no watch at all. Hawaiian shirts, swim trunks and a full tattoo sleeve do the talking.

An unnamed character wears the gold Crowex, the Day-Date homage, and GQ put him on the cover of its carousel: gold grills, a bandana, and the watch filling the frame. From that image the watch has a black dial, a fluted bezel and the day-plus-date layout, on a five-link bracelet. GTAForums caught the same watch in the screenshots and called it the return of Crowex to the series.

Brian Heder's Two-Tone Submariner

The watch on Heder is the one with the most direct real-world answer. The two-tone Submariner Date has been in the Rolex catalog since the 1980s, and the reference WatchPro names, the 16613, is the five-digit version that ran through the 1990s and 2000s. The current version is the 41mm 126613, in Oystersteel and 18k yellow gold with a ceramic bezel, and it comes with a black dial (126613LN) or a blue dial and bezel (126613LB).

We have both listed. The black-dial 126613LN is the closer match to what GTAForums read on Heder. The blue 126613LB is the same watch with a blue dial and matching blue ceramic bezel.

The blue-on-blue 126613LB, the other current two-tone Submariner Date.

Two-tone runs through more of the Rolex catalog than the Submariner. If Dre'Quan Priest's GMT-style bezel is the look you are after, the two-tone GMT-Master II "Root Beer" 126711CHNR, in steel and Everose gold, is the Rolex version of it, and we have it listed at $25,000. We also have a two-tone Cosmograph Daytona 126503 listed at $27,500 for anyone who wants the chronograph and the gold in one watch.

The Gold Day-Date Behind Crowex

The gold Crowex is the only watch in the footage that announces its inspiration on the dial. A yellow gold case and bracelet, a date at three, the day spelled out in an arc at twelve: GQ's verdict is that "this can only be inspired by a Rolex Day-Date, or 'President' as it's nicknamed." WatchPro names the reference, the 40mm yellow gold 228238.

The real thing is the Day-Date 40 in 18k yellow gold on the President bracelet, and Rolex builds it in a long list of dial options. We have a range of 228238 listed, from the silver Roman dial at $48,000 through green Roman and onyx dials to factory diamond dials above $60,000. The closest match to the black dial in GQ's cover image is the onyx-dial 228238 at $60,000, fluted bezel and all.

The Day-Date 40 in yellow gold: the watch Crowex has been imitating since the PlayStation 2 era.

The Royal Oak Behind Covgari

Covgari's octagonal bezel, eight exposed screws and integrated bracelet point at one watch, and WatchPro says so directly: the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. The chronograph layout they describe, and the "Royal Oak chronograph look-alike" GTAForums caught on Raul Bautista, narrow it further to the Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph 41mm, reference 26240ST in steel.

The Royal Oak Chronograph in steel with a black dial: three subdials, octagonal bezel, integrated bracelet.

We have the 26240ST listed in black, blue, white and green dials, and the time-only Royal Oak Selfwinding 41mm 15510ST alongside it from $53,000. Every one of them is the watch Covgari is drawn from.

Jason's Casio: The One We Do Not Sell

The lead character wears the least expensive watch anyone in the footage has on, and it is the right call for him. The PRW-1300 is a solar-powered, radio-controlled Pro Trek with a compass, barometer, altimeter and 100m of water resistance, built for exactly the kind of day Jason has in the trailer. GQ's line is that he needs "something robust that'll show the time from a quick glance between reloading magazines."

We do not sell Casio, and we are not going to pretend a Rolex is the substitute. If you want Jason's watch, the Pro Trek line is still in production and a current model runs a few hundred dollars at any Casio retailer. What we can tell you is that the same footage has a two-tone Submariner, a gold Day-Date and a Royal Oak Chronograph in it, and those we do sell.

Sources & Methodology

Release date, platforms and the Extended Look premiere details are from Rockstar Games' Newswire and Engadget's August 27, 2026 breakdown. Character names and setting details are per Rockstar's published material as summarized on Wikipedia. The character-by-character watch reads are from British GQ (Josiah Gogarty, August 27, 2026); the fictional-brand-to-real-reference mapping is from WatchPro USA (Ella Kirby, August 26, 2026); and the earlier screenshot identifications are from the "The watches of GTA VI" thread on GTAForums (May 2025). Crowex's history in earlier games is per the GTA community wikis. Where those sources disagree, or where nobody has matched a watch to a real reference, we have said so.

Everything about the in-game watches is a reading of rendered footage. Rockstar has not published a list of the real watches its designers referenced, and none of the brands named here are licensed in the game. Images in this article are of watches we have listed, from our own product pages, plus Rockstar's official video embedded from YouTube. Prices are our asking prices as of August 28, 2026 and are subject to change and to availability. Watches Off 5th is a grey market and pre-owned dealer with no authorized-dealer relationship to Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Tudor or Casio, and we do not set or represent brand retail pricing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What watch does Jason wear in GTA 6?

Jason Duval wears a large digital watch that British GQ, WatchPro and the GTAForums community all read as a homage to Casio's Pro Trek PRW-1300, an outdoor model with a compass, barometer and altimeter. In-game it belongs to Rockstar's fictional Kronos brand. It is the least expensive watch anyone wears in the Extended Look.

What is Crowex in GTA?

Crowex is Rockstar's fictional Rolex, in the series since San Andreas. In GTA 6 the name appears printed on a gold watch with a day window at twelve and a date at three, which points to the Rolex Day-Date 228238. WatchPro also ties Crowex to the two-tone Submariner, and the brand has carried a Rolex-style slogan about being too rich to care about the time since the PlayStation 2 games.

What real watch is Brian Heder wearing?

British GQ describes "the big two-tone thing on his wrist," and the GTAForums thread matched the screenshot to a Rolex Submariner in steel and gold with a black dial. The current real-world equivalent is the Submariner Date 126613LN in Oystersteel and yellow gold, which we have listed, along with the blue-dial 126613LB.

Which Audemars Piguet does Covgari copy?

WatchPro identifies Covgari's octagonal bezel, exposed screws, integrated bracelet and chronograph layout as the Royal Oak, and GTAForums matched the watch on Raul Bautista to a Royal Oak chronograph. The closest real reference is the Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph 41mm 26240ST in steel, which we have listed in several dial colors.

Can you buy watches in GTA 6?

Rockstar has not confirmed it yet. Earlier games let players buy Crowex watches at the Didier Sachs boutique in San Andreas and in GTA Online, and British GQ notes the game may have "an in-game option to hit the boutiques" for Lucia. The Extended Look showed clothing and customization without a specific watch shop.

When does GTA 6 come out?

Grand Theft Auto VI releases on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar originally targeted 2025, moved the date to May 26, 2026, then to November 19. Digital pre-orders opened in June 2026 at $79.99 for the Standard Edition, and pre-loading is scheduled to begin November 12, 2026.
